It’s the final or failure, Tevez says

Argentine striker Carlos Tevez has warned that anything less than a place in the final of the Copa America will make him and his teammates losers. The West Ham star said Argentina have all their top players available for the tournament and must go all the way.

“If we don’t get to the final it will be a failure, we’ll get slaughtered,” Tevez was reported as saying in the Argentine press this morning. “There are great players in this squad and we have to get past the other teams. It would be a real blow if we don’t reach the final.”

Tevez said he was in better form than last year when he took part in the World Cup.

“My experience in England was crucial. I have come on a lot, both physically and mentally. In England, you have to be 100 percent professional.”

Argentina haven’t won the Copa America, the oldest international tournament in the world, since 1993.

I think Carlitos is being too easy on himself and his team mates!

Considering that Kaka, Ronaldinho and Ze Roberto all decided to give Dunga the finger Argentina are the clear favourites and having lost to Brazil’s B last time out I reckon they’ll get slaughtered on return to Buenos Aires if they do not win the whole thing.
